About

Hi there! My name’s Alex

I am the creative bee behind Pretty Cosy Chai, a creative living blog rooted in classic, heritage and vintage aesthetics though the pretty things I make often belong to multiple lanes: event stationery, surface pattern design, crochet, hand-sewing, card making.

Event stationery and surface pattern design are the heart of what I do. Around these, I love to craft for pleasure, to unwind, to practice mindful living, to relax, to learn precious skills I wish to acquire and to earn additional income.

When I don’t design nor craft, I love to write. I write about my attempt to make creative life and business low-friction and self-caring. Life experience, health issues that limit the time I can spend on Pretty Cosy Chai and past business experience have led me to put my heart and body first in both work and life. That may mean a slower day, a slower pace, a messy way of doing something, or a small act of kindness toward myself. I have learned a little as I have gone along, and I am learning still as I continue to figure my art business out. I enjoy sharing this learning as little seeds on the blog in hope they speak to someone some day in a beautiful way.

Thank you for stopping by.

Alex

What does Pretty Cosy Chai mean?

Pretty captures my love for aesthetics I consider beautiful generally speaking.

Cosy aligns with my love for a slower pace of life generally speaking these days alongside my growing interest in shaping my business to be low-friction. It conveys my love of cosy and warmth.

Chai stands for chai latte, my favourite hot beverage.

All three concepts capture the heart of the brand.
