Daily Hobbies

I am a creative, and entrepreneur, living with debilitating anxiety everyday. I’m on a mission to change that reality. One way I disrupt the mental activities that drive the anxiety is by pursuing new hobbies. In two words, I force my mind to focus on something else than work and I do my best to engage in my hobby activities mindfully. A little each day. Waking up with work on my mind? Instead I get out of bed and come and check on my mint leaves that are drying. It’s a journey but I it feels good to be on the journey of calming the body down.

Knitting

Knitting is something I did enjoy in the past but stopped due to my wrists getting painful. I recently decided to go back to it to help me further rest my mind and take it off work. I do plan to keep it super tiny and simple though and above all economical. It gives me the opportunity to do something mindful and mindful is a big big word when it gets to calming the mind and body.

Growing Herbs Indoor

This is something brand new to me that has been at the back of my mind for a long time. So, I’m very excited about it, particularly when I’m also trying to improve my food management and diet for greater health. Here again, this is all indoor, so I am keeping it as tiny, simple, tidy as possible and, of course, economical.

Food Management

I know this isn’t necessarily a hobby but more of a must do or chore for many. It certainly has been a chore for me and the reason I put it under the hobby category is because I want to change my relationship with food management. Instead of viewing it as a chore, start learning to view it as an investment in my health. At the very least mental health because the activities involved in food management are other opportunities to be mindful, not to mention by learning to manage food better, I cut down on daily stress further. Better food management is a win win for me.
