Minting Has Started

Today I have finally started! I cut my mint, got rid of the stems and kept the bigger leaves that had no sign of darkening. I washed it all in a little bowl of water and colander, then spread it on an oven tray covered with a kitchen towel that I used to dry the leaves. Then I’ve covered the leaves with tissue paper and I’m going to keep it as is for a few hours to ensure these leaves are dried properly before I let them dry in the open air.

I really enjoy doing this and can feel a wave of relaxation and calm in me as a result. This makes me very happy because that’s precisely why I took on this new hobby that I now give time to daily. Something else I love is the opportunities for mobile photography. These will make wonderful reference photos for me to continue learn botanical art. The artist wins, the person wins. Delightful!

What’s up about the choice of “Minting” as a word for my title? Just me fooling around and playing with word basically because heck, why not?! It’s fun. So, from now on I will be “minting” when spending time on learning to grow mint indoor.
