When I started the hobby of growing herbs indoor a few days ago, I was determined to also keep the cost down. Indoor herbs seemed a fairly economical hobby to have, compared to growing tomatoes for instance, because I can start with a pot bought from the grocery store. Sure, it’s not necessarily the best, from what I understand, but it’s nevertheless a start that gets me to develop a good few habits: watering, caring for a plant, washing and drying and storing.
To stay money aware, I decided to keep track of my expenses for this new hobby.
So, this post will serve as my herbs growing expenditure log:
| Date | Item | Amount |
| 31/03/2026 | White container for mint pot | £2.49 |
| 01/04/2026 | Tray for drying mint leaves | £1.99 |
| 01/04/2026 | Twine for drying mint leaves | £3.49 |
| 31/03/2026 | Potted mint | £1 |
| 01/04/2026 | Glass container for storing dry mint | £2.25 |
| TOTAL | £11.22 |
Rest is a great investment in my business
